One of the Greatest Point Guards of All-Time

assist: as⋅sist / [uh-sist] / –verb (used with object)

1. to give support or aid to

2. to be associated with as an assistant or helper.

Interesting.

I searched through the NCAA and NBA record books to see if there was any mention of Maxwell’s assist record. Arguably one of the greatest point guards of all-time: the man, the myth, the legend is [coming] back. This man is quite the talent, furnishing some of our generation’s most creative music.

Two things to note: 1) his album is coming out this summer, not sure when, but a MUST cop 2) he’s headlining Essence Fest this year in New Orleans.

This is just an fyi, cheers to one of the best out there. He’s up there in my Sade category.

Black Scale Presents: Bleu Collar vs Portishead

A strong collaborative effort and fine piece of art from a few of my LA comrades.

Rap Duo Bleu Collar (Basik + Reese1) and Director Amanjah (met this young man back in my “Pimpin Ken” days at FAMU on my visits to ATL). Impressive stuff indeed, see commentary and thought behind the project:

Seminal clothing brand Black Scale Presents L.A. hip hop duo Bleu Collar matched up against the sinister drums of Portishead’s “Machine Gun” (click here for more)

Otherwise, enjoy the video below, pardon some of the choice language: it’s art.

Music Video: El Prez ft DNEZ - It Is What It Is

It’s not too often that I will post music (or music videos) on the site, but I was compelled to showcase a video after strolling down Eazee St.

I was compelled for a few reasons: DNEZ is a fellow St. Bernard c/o ‘98 graduate; there is Inglewood representation; I recognized a few familliar comrades in the video (Linda & Shelly of Bella Beat / George Roberston: 2007 CLIMB Charity Softball World Series MVP); and the video production is just simply fresh.

Note: Although it’s apparent we have numerous mutual ppl, I’ve never met El Prez a day in my life, but when you stay in your lane and do your thang, people will take notice of your craft and efforts…it’s just how the world works.

Enjoy.
